What changes the number
A roof survey, in writing.
Orientation, shading and the roof itself
A south-facing, unshaded roof gets the yield assumed here; a shaded or east-west roof gets less. The structural check decides how much of the roof can carry the frames.
How much of your consumption happens in daylight
The saving assumes most of the generation offsets your bill through daytime use and net-metering settlement. A house that is empty by day settles more through the meter and less directly.
The written proposal
Sizing, layout, the mounting arrangement, the electrical scheme and the price, in writing, after the survey. That is the number that matters; this page is the estimate that gets you there.
